If you were one of the guests
of the gala event to celebrate the opening of the Lewis & Clark National
Bicentennial Exhibit, you would have stepped right off the streets of
Philadelphia into 19th century Illinois. Every detail retained a resemblance
of the period, from the Famous Camp Dubois where this journey begins;
to the climb up the forest lined “mountain range” to the keelboat
used by William Clark. Guests dressed in period attire and enjoyed a variety
of food and fun during their stay in the past. Check out what we did to
transform the Academy of Natural Sciences into the uncharted territories
that were once the United States of America.
